Engrave it with your favorite imagery, turn scratches into art

A recent problem surrounding the iPhone 5 is the handset’s high degree of scuffability, according to various sources in tech, including the famous repair shop iFixit.

It’s far too early to call this an issue but it does seem that the iPhone 5’s aluminum rear shell is prone to getting nicks and dings pretty darn fast. Apple says it’s normal, and we agree.

However, that doesn’t mean you have to leave things as they are when there’s a solution out there.

Jumping to capitalize on what could potentially turn out to be a real problem with the handset, Epilog Laser is showing off the ability to do laser engravings on the back of the iPhone 5. Anyone with access to one of their machines can take up a model and have it imprinted in minutes.

Basically, it’s scratching your iPhone artistically.

You can engrave any type of graphics (like some album art, your girlfriend’s face), as well as text. The Apple logo and other markings are carefully bordered out too.

Check out the video above to see how it works.
