Insomniac Games is trying to focus on its other projects

Insomniac Games, the studio behind a variety of highly successful PlayStation exclusive franchises, has confirmed that it won’t be working on another Resistance game.

Insomniac has delighted millions of PlayStation console owners over the years with high quality titles, even developing a special first person shooter franchise for the PS3 in the form of Resistance. The studio has recently decided to make titles for all platforms, however, presenting a new shooter title called Overstrike, which will be published by EA.

In order to focus more on such new projects, the studio’s CEO, Ted Price, has confirmed to VG247 that it “won't be making any more Resistances.”

Such a report appeared last year, after Resistance 3 was released, although Insomniac writer Jon Paquette said at that time that there were still plenty of stories that could be told within the Resistance series.

Sony will no doubt continue to flesh out the franchise with the help of its other studios, like it did with Resistance: Retribution for the PSP a few years ago and like it’s currently doing with the upcoming Resistance: Burning Skies for the PS Vita.
