Video game publisher Capcom says that Resident Evil: Revelations is a success on the Nintendo 3DS market despite the fact that the title sold fewer copies than the company had initially expected.
Masachika Kawata, a producer working on the Resident Evil franchise, tells Eurogamer that, “Given the large development costs we had on the 3DS version, we would have liked to have even a little more sales than we did in the end. But that doesn’t mean we saw it as a failure by any means.”
Capcom is keen to make sure that the game also performs well later in the year, when an enhanced version launches on a number of new platforms.
Resident Evil: Revelations will be released on the PC, the PlayStation 3, the Wii U and the Xbox 360 in North America on May 21 and in Europe on May 24.
