Nintendo has just confirmed that two free demos are now available for download through the Nintendo 3DS’ eShop, one for Resident Evil: Revelations and the other for Cooking Mama 4.

Nintendo is set to finally use the 3DS’ eShop for something else than re-releasing games made for its older consoles, as the company will deploy today two special demos for the portable console.

The first is for the eagerly awaited Resident Evil: Revelations survival horror game from Capcom. In order to justify the higher price of the game, the Japanese company wants players to see just how Revelations returns to the classic horror gameplay that made the series so popular many years ago.

When you’re done killing zombies, you can also download a demo for Cooking Mama 4 and create some delicious, albeit virtual, foods with the simulator from 505 Games.

Nintendo promises that more demos will be released via the eShop in the near future for titles like Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, or Rhythm Thief & The Emperor’s Treasure.
