Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil: Revelations 2, the next major entry in its survival horror series, will have a Raid mode, and has even posted a few screenshots showing the dynamic zombie-killing experience in action.

The Resident Evil series has had quite a few ups and downs in recent years, with Capcom launching wildly varied experiences in order to see what resonates the best with the franchise's fans.

Right now, the studio is working hard on Resident Evil: Revelations 2, the sequel to the popular Revelations, which offered a slower-paced survival horror experience, instead of the more action-oriented predecessors like Resident Evil 6.

Revelations 2 also has a Raid mode

Besides delivering an intense story experience in which players take control of Claire Redfield and Moira Burton as they try to escape an abandoned prison filled with zombie-like monsters, the title also features a more dynamic Raid mode, which has just been detailed on the official website.

First up, the studio confirms that Raid mode in Revelations 1 was a big success with fans, as after completing the slower-paced campaign, many of them were looking for something more dynamic, so the shoot and loot gameplay of the new mode delighted them.

In Revelations 2, players can choose and customize their characters, and as you can see in the screenshots below, besides Claire or Barry Burton, there are also fan-favorites like Wesker or Hunk, and you can expect many more to join the mode, even if they don't appear in the story campaign. You can customize them with different starting skills and then jump into the actual mode.

Some enhancements and changes have been made to the Raid recipe

Capcom has implemented some changes to the old Raid mode from Revelations 1, as besides looking for weapons and gold, you can also find treasure chests and other such things in each stage.

"Raid Mode has always been about collecting loot such as weapons, custom parts, and currency; in Revelations 2, you'll also find treasure chests thrown into the mix. Remember, however, your ultimate goal is to always find and break the goal emblem at the end of each stage," the studio explains.

Of course, the cooperative mechanic is also present, as you can play with a friend, both online or locally via the split-screen mechanic, in order to reach higher levels and scores.

You can check out a few screenshots with the Resident Evil: Revelations 2 Raid mode in action below. The actual game will see its first episode launch in February for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms.
