Capcom has confirmed during the Sony pre-Tokyo Games Show 2014 press conference that Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is real and that it will be launched in early 2015 for the PS4.

The Resident Evil saga has been around for a very long time and it seemed that this year Capcom was going to limit itself only to releasing Resident Evil Remastered across different platforms like PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, or Xbox One.

However, it's now confirmed during the Tokyo Games Show 2014 press conference organized by Sony that Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is also in development.

According to Capcom's representative, the new game is going to debut in early 2015, but a concrete time frame hasn't been offered.

However, a few details have been shared, as the studio confirms that the protagonists of the original Revelations, Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, aren't coming back for the sequel.

Instead, new protagonists will be added and more details about the past of the franchise are going to be revealed to fans.

Capcom has promised to bring more details about Resident Evil: Revelations 2 later this month at the actual Tokyo Games Show 2014 event. Until then, expect to see rumors and speculation about the new protagonist and the game.
