The reboot of Resident Evil that has been going round and round in the rumor mill for quite some time now seems to be finally coming, as an industry insider has shared that the game will head for last- and current-gen consoles next year.

Well Known industry insider Ahsan Rasheen has revealed the information via Twitter, claiming that a remake of a popular Resident Evil title is coming our way.

"New Resident Evil. Information coming soon. The 'rebirth'. X1, PS4, 360, PS3, PC. Release date 2015. Information really soon. Pay attention when I said rebirth, REmake. If you owned a GameCube in 2002, you will be pleased to hear this announcement," he shares in a series of tweets.

He has also hinted that gamers who owned a GameCube back in the time where man was riding dinosaurs, in 2002, will be pleased with the incoming announcement from Capcom, which is indicative of the fact that the remake will be based on a 2002-era Resident Evil title.

Of course, until the official announcement comes, you should take this with a grain of salt, but with Gamescom being right around the corner, Capcom will hopefully corroborate the rumor and maybe even give us a nice trailer, so that we know what to expect.
