The Resident Evil franchise became a cult classic many years ago, lots of people with being amazed by its great gameplay and rich story. In recent times, however, Capcom has taken its franchise into new directions, through games like Resident Evil 5, which delivered a more survival action experience.
Now, the series is getting ready to see the release of a tactical-based shooter experience, in the form of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, coming from Canadian developer Slant Six Games.
We’ve already heard quite a lot about the game, which sees players step into the combat boots of Umbrella Security Service members, a team of mercenaries sent to eliminate any proof of the corporation’s involvement in the Raccoon City zombie outbreak.
Now, a stunning cinematic video has been deployed, showcasing the three-way battle that will take place in the fictional city. While players control the USS team, they’ll need to be on the lookout not just for zombies or other sorts of monsters, but also for a team of U.S. Spec Ops members.
“Introducing the six members of the US Spec Ops team – Tweed, Dee-Ay, Harley, Willow, Shona and Party Girl,” Capcom said about the video. “Sent into the ill-fated Raccoon City to determine the source of the mysterious T-virus outbreak the US Spec Ops team will use their elite skills and training to defeat the USS team and ensure the truth behind the outbreak is revealed.”
While you can experience Operation Raccoon City through a single-player experience, you can team up with up to three other friends and fight against the dangers that reside in Raccoon City.
The new Resident Evil game is out on March 20, in North America, and March 23, in Europe, for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Until then, check out the video below.
Epic Gonna get this ASAP love resi don't care about who's made it after this cut scene I'll be playing as US special forces can't stand umbrella spec ops active camo and a juggernaut rip off lol still gonna get and rape as US SPEC OPS fact
Alot of people complain about this new direction but I see it as a step up. It's not like ORC is the only RE game out there . Revelations is geared to survival horror fans while ORC is for action fans. Besides RE is also fit to be an action game. This is just Capcom testing where they can go with the franchise. The old games were good but I've always wondered what it would be like to have an allout firefight in Raccoon Zcity and now I can.
