To something, not sure exactly what

It seems that today is rumor day over at Capcom. After we reported on the news that Street Fighter IV could also come to the PC and that it is due out for a holiday release date, we now have some Resident Evil 5 related rumors to share with you.

It seems that PSU has a source inside Capcom that is reporting on possible release dates for the new title in the zombie saga that is Resident Evil. Initial reports put the game down for an October release, possibly even on Halloween. But now, the same source says that the game has been pushed back to November, so as to position it better for the videogame premium sales area that begins in late November and finishes once the winter holidays are in full swing.

The same source inside Capcom also referenced the rumored co-op mode that the game supports with seamless drop in and drop out features. Japanese magazine Famitsu recently revealed that a female mercenary might be the avatar of the second player, while the first player controls one Chris Redfield. It seems that another likely candidate for the co-op spot is Sherry Birkin, which was just a young girl when Claire Redfield took care of her, back in Resident Evil 2. As the current game is set 10 years after the events of the latter, she would now be in her early teens, which is just about the best age for a girl to start taking out hordes of zombies.

Also, there's a new countdown on the Resident Evil 4 official website, which hints that we should expect something new regarding the game in the next couple of days. Maybe it's an official press statement regarding co-op and characters or maybe it's another gameplay trailer, one that does not stir a controversy. We'll just have to wait and see.
