More details are surfacing about Resident Evil 6, as Capcom’s next action horror game will take around 30 hours to complete, thanks to its three lengthy single-player campaigns.

Resident Evil 6 was announced earlier this year, but lots of details have started to surface right now, after Capcom’s annual Captivate media event.

We’ve already seen an impressive video, admired a few screenshots, and learned about its pricey special edition for the Japanese market.

Now, Eiichiro Sasaki, the game’s producer, has talked with NowGamer about the game’s story mode and how it’s going to take players around 30 hours to complete the three campaigns.

"The three characters each have their own story and you can choose whichever one you want and play that story, experience that character's story," he said.

As you already know, Resident Evil 6 focuses on protagonists from the previous games, namely Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield, as well as on a whole new character, Jake Muller.

While their stories are vastly different in both content and tone, there will be overlap between them, according to Sasaki.

"In terms of length, each character's story is a little bit less than RE5 but when you combine them together you're getting something that is much longer. While each character's story stands alone, all of the characters wind up in the same area of the game, in China, so there is a certain level of overlap. They stand on their own but they do overlap in certain areas. You don't have to play them all, of course."

A 30-hour game is something rare nowadays, as only sprawling role-playing games like Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning or Skyrim can boast such a play time.

Hopefully, Capcom will be able to keep players hooked to the single-player experience and complete Resident Evil 6 once it’s released in October.
