Sony has confirmed that it’s uploaded a brand new version of the day-one patch for Resident Evil 6 on the PlayStation 3, one which will no longer cause loading errors for owners of the game’s digital version.

Resident Evil 6 came out at the beginning of the year and, besides the disappointment it caused in reviewers and players alike, the game became unplayable for PlayStation 3 owners who got its digital download version from the PlayStation Store.

Capcom quickly issued a statement, saying that the error was caused by the day-one patch it had released right at the game’s launch and confirming that a new version of the patch would appear as soon as possible.

Now, Sony has confirmed that a new version of the update is live, so owners of the digital edition of Resident Evil 6 can safely download it without worrying about unforeseen errors.

Seeing as how the game is fully playable, what do you think of Resident Evil 6? Do you agree with its critics or do you think the game still has its merits?
