In the United Kingdom

Resident Evil 5, the zombie-oriented shooter from Capcom, fought valiantly but, after quite a few weeks, was forced to cede the first spot in the United Kingdom videogame chart to the omnipresent Wii Fit from Nintendo, some betting that it will still dominate the chart in a year from now. Capcom should probably make Wii Fit a boss in the next Resident Evil game.

FIFA 09, from EA Sports, managed to jump up three spots in the chart, getting at number three, as more and more players and football fans want to recreate on their gaming devices the exhilarating matches that take place in the Premier League.

The biggest jump of the week was that of Wheelman, a game published by Midway, which is centered on driving around Barcelona and looking cool as Vin Diesel. The game exited the top ten last week, going down to 11, and now sits at number four, as players discover the joy of stunt driving.

Call of Duty: World at War is at number five in the chart, displaying the same longevity that its predecessor, Modern Warfare, showed last year, as Street Fighter IV is at number six, in free fall from the top three.

The Nintendo DS gets its first entry at number seven, with Professor Layton and the Curious Village. Call of Duty 4 is sitting at number eight in the United Kingdom chart, almost 16 months after the day it was released. Mario & Sonic are also staging a comeback, with their Olympic Games title at number nine, while Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars from Rockstar closes the top ten positions of the chart.

Wanted: Weapons of Fate, from Warner Bros. Interactive did not manage to crack the top ten in its launch week, while Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. exited the top ten during the last week.
