We reported a few months ago that Japanese video game developer and publisher Capcom had joined the PC Gaming Alliance, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing the PC platform back to the center stage of gaming.

This meant that the company would bring a lot of its console-exclusive titles to the PC, and, now, the Japanese corporation has kept its part of the deal, as it has just announced that Street Fighter IV, Bionic Commando and Resident Evil 5 will all be appearing on the PC platform starting from July this year. Players will receive new and enhanced titles, customized for this platform, bundled with features that weren't present in the console releases.

The first game that will appear from Capcom is Street Fighter IV, a true next-generation iteration of the famous fighting franchise, which took the world by storm in the arcade days of gaming. Filled with popular fighters and new characters, the game will arrive in PAL territories on July 3, reaching other countries after that date.

But don't think this will be a repackaged edition of the console version, as players will support higher screen resolutions and three new shader-based filters, Watercolor, Poster and Sumi-e Ink, which give a new look to the whole game.

Next up is the sequel to the classic Bionic Commando game, which first appeared for the Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1988, with the side-scrolling environment being replaced by a completely new 3D one that guarantees some unforgettable moments. The title will also support higher resolutions than its console brothers, remappable controls, the support for both DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 graphics and an online connectivity for multiplayer sessions.

The highly acclaimed and extremely popular Resident Evil 5 has also been detailed by Capcom for the PC, but, sadly, hasn't received a concrete release date, with the company limiting itself to saying that it will appear later this year. Set to bring the great zombie shooter experience to PC users, this new version will boast online play for the co-operative mode and, most importantly, will support NVIDIA's new GeForce 3D Vision technology, which brings to life the action that is unfolding on the computer screen.

All in all, it's very nice to see some love for PC users from Capcom and, hopefully, this move will attract other developers and publishers to this platform.
