Resco MobileApp Studio Adds Windows Phone 7 Support

Resco, a provider of developer tools for mobile devices, announced that Resco MobileApp Studio would add support for the development of Silverlight applications for Windows Phone 7 devices. The upgraded development platform is scheduled for release on September 28, 2010.

Resco MobileApp Studio is a Microsoft Visual Studio based platform which can be used for rapid development of mobile applications. It consists of the Resco MobileForms Toolkit  -  a suite of WinForms mobile controls, together with Designer and Tools that allow developers to quickly design and build mobile forms. The addition of Windows Phone 7 support will make Resco MobileApp Studio a platform for both WinForms and Silverlight application development targeting multiple Windows platforms such as Windows Mobile, Tablet PC and Windows Phone 7.

The Resco MobileApp Studio will include a suite of Microsoft Silverlight controls for Windows Phone 7 called Resco MobileLight Toolkit. The first release will initially feature two most frequently used controls: AdvancedList and DetailView, with more controls such as Calendar and Grid to be added over time. The controls will feature a user interface in accordance with the Windows Phone 7 Series UI Design & Interaction Guide in order to comply with the Windows Phone 7 graphics and usage standards.

"We have a clear goal to develop a product built on a successful tradition of Resco MobileForms Toolkit with account to the new possibilities and trends of the Windows Phone 7 and Microsoft Silverlight."

Resco MobileLight Toolkit will be marketed as a stand-alone product as well as part of the Resco MobileApp Studio. The license will include a 1-year subscription granting access to new control releases, updates, fixes and support. Also, existing Resco MobileForms Toolkit customers will be able to upgrade their current licenses and migrate to Resco MobileApp Studio.
