Now that Apple has rolled out the promised Batterygate patch, users have the easy task of updating and testing the new software to see how their battery life has improved.

iPhone 4S owners are primarily targeted by the update, but there have been reports from owners of older-generation devices running iOS 5 that their batteries were draining faster then normal.

It’s probably too soon to know whether or not iOS 5.0.1 has addressed the problem, given that Apple only released the patch hours ago.

Still, with some users reporting that they could actually see their battery meter deplete by the minute, you can kick off your comments any time you want. Don’t forget to mention your device model and previous experience (prior to installing iOS 5.0.1).
