Microsoft offers no battery replacement, but instead gives you a fully working tablet

The Surface Pro is a pretty expensive tablet currently available in the United States and Canada in two different models, one of which is sold for no less than $999 (€780).

In case you’re buying one of these and the battery breaks down, there’s absolutely no option to replace it, as Microsoft does not offer new parts for its tablets.

Instead, the company will provide you with a new tablet in exchange for $470 (€365), according to a Microsoft Answers post spotted by WinBeta.org.

Basically, Microsoft will replace your tablet with a new one at absolutely no cost as long as you’re covered by warranty but, in case your Microsoft Complete contract has expired, your only option is to get a replacement device for “less than the cost of buying a new unit.”
