We all know that Microsoft claims that the Surface Pro 3 is the tablet which can replace a laptop, but the company is about to go bananas thanks to the debut of the eagerly anticipated docking station.

This way, the Surface Pro 3 can replace not only your laptop, but also your desktop computer, Microsoft says, adding new functionality and tools to an otherwise great device.

While we’re most likely just a step away from Microsoft telling us that the Surface Pro 3 can replace our fridge, it’s worth mentioning that the docking station includes 3 USB 3.0 ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports, 1 Gigabit Ethernet port, 1 3.5mm audio input/output connection, and a Mini DisplayPort.

In addition, it also comes with a security lock slot, while the design allows you to access the Mini DisplayPort and USB 3.0 port on your device even when docked.

Needless to say, the docking station is a great thing to have for Surface Pro 3 buyers, but you should know that it doesn’t come cheap. The device can be yours for $199.99 (150 euros) and is currently available in the United States and Canada only. Microsoft says that more markets should get it very soon.
