14 DAY TRIAL // The other day, paparazzi had one of those very rare occasions of snapping singer Mariah Carey while on a date with husband Nick Cannon. The usually media-shy star was photographed in a breezy summer mini-dress, apparently packing a few extra pounds, which immediately set tongues wagging as to the probability of her being with child. Far from it actually, her publicist says for Us Magazine.
The moment said pictures ended up online, they prompted speculation of the type “is she pregnant or just enjoying life,” and headlines like “Rejoice, lambs! Mariah Carey pregnant.” They’re nothing but rumors, though, the singer’s rep says for the publication, even though, almost at the same time, Nick himself continues telling the media that having a baby with the “Butterfly” singer is his number one priority.

After photos surfaced of the two – who are about to celebrate their two-year anniversary – at Beverly Glen Deli in Beverly Hills Saturday, blogs speculated the curvy singer could be with child. But her rep tells Us Magazine she’s ‘not pregnant.’ That doesn’t mean they’ll never have kids,” the mag writes after contacting Carey’s rep for a comment on the ongoing rumors.
“We absolutely plan to have a family. But we gotta prioritize, because that’s a major, major priority. That’s like the only priority in life, when you think about it: starting and raising a family... We wanna make sure everything is out of the way and that we don’t have any distractions,” Cannon once said about wanting to start a family with Mariah, as cited by Us. For the time being though, it would seem that their careers are getting in the way: the other day, word got out in the media that Mariah was already hard at work on her Christmas album.
As fans would remember, talk of Carey being pregnant began almost immediately after she and Nick announced they were married: the world was so taken by surprise by their secret union, that many believed this had been a shotgun wedding.
