Actress Renee Zellweger, Oscar-winner for her part in "Cold Mountain", said "I do" to her boyfriend, a country music singer, Kenny Chesney. The small ceremony took place on the Caribbean island of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The 15 - minute event, officiated by a female preacher, in front of a small group of friends and family, was very touching, as friends could see both Renee and Kenny crying and laughing together. The bride wore a beautiful wedding dress by Carolina Herrera, one of her favorite designers.
After the ceremony, the couple and approximately 45 guests, went to Chesney's residence, situated in a small village of Peter Bay. Guests could be seen milling around a garden where there was an outdoor buffet and light music playing.
On the night before, the couple had a pre-wedding party, at Rhumb Lines restaurant in downtown Cruz Bay, the main town on the island. Everybody wore T-shirts and jeans and drank cockteils and margaritas. Later, the party moved to nearby Woody's Seafood Saloon.
Renne Zellweger met Kenny at a charity concert for tsunami victims, on 15 january 2005, California, where both were invited.
According to Country Weekly magazine, Chesney long ago named Zellweger as his favorite actress and was inspired to write his 1999 hit "You Had Me From Hello".
