Actress Renne Zellweger and her husband, country singer Kenny Chesney are officially separated, according to a statement issued on Thursday.
Chesney's publicist, Holly Gleason, and Zellweger's Los Angeles-based publicist Nanci Ryder, confirmed to The Associated Press on Thursday that the Oscar-winning actress Zellweger and her husband Chesney are seeking an annulment after five months of marriage.
Neither Ryder nor Gleason couldn't say who filled the divorce papers and had no further information about the split.
Renne Zellweger, 36, met Kenny Chesney, 37, at a charity concert for tsunami victims, on 15 January 2005, California, where both were invited. After only four months, the couple got married in a small ceremony, which took place on the Caribbean island of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
