14 DAY TRIAL // The media has started a fierce debate over Renee Zellweger's complete transformation that has made her nearly unidentifiable when she stepped out on the red carpet earlier this week and paparazzi had a hard time telling who she actually was.
While the actress has maintained that her changing looks are a result of her getting older but also of her changing her lifestyle to be more relaxed and happier with what she does, several famed plastic surgeons have come forward to give their opinion that the actress has undergone extensive procedures on her face.
Sources from Renee's entourage confirm the actress has had plastic surgery
Fox News has spoken with one insider from her entourage, and this insider claims that she’s had surgeries, explaining that she did them because she had “insecurities.” “Insecurities abound,” claims in the insider, adding that “Hollywood gets to people more than one would like to think.”
Doctors think that Zellweger has done extensive reconstructive work on her face, realigning her eyes, removing the bags from under her eyes, getting Botox injections, as well as fillers. She certainly did look different when she emerged on Monday night, fresh-faced and smiling.
Meanwhile, in an interview with People, the actress dismisses all rumors that she's goneunder the knife to alter her looks, claiming that she is aware of the fact that she looks different and that she is glad people are taking notice.
This is not the first time Renee has been accused of resorting to plastic surgeons to make herself look younger. She has been accused of a number of procedures, such as reshaping her jaw, a chin implant, and lots of Botox and fillers.
Specialists think Zellweger's drastic changes are a result of Hollywood's obsession with youth
Famed Harvard sociologist Dr. Hilary Levey claims that Renee's actions are a direct result of the pressure Hollywood puts on women to look young, as well as society's obsession with perfection: “Renee is obviously hyper-fixated on maintaining a youthful appearance; this is likely a result of the interaction between her own personality type and Hollywood’s focus on young females.”
The doctor also points out that Renee should have thought her actions through and refrain from making such drastic changes to her face, giving as examples the cases of actresses such as Meg Ryan and Jennifer Grey, “who don't work as much because they changed how they looked so substantially.”
Renee Zellweger dismisses all the rumors: “People don't know me in my 40s. People don't know me [as] healthy for a while. Perhaps I look different. Who doesn't as they get older?! Ha. But I am different. I'm happy.”
