Actress Renee Zellweger reportedly found comfort in her "best friend" Damian Rice's arms, just one week after she split up with her husband, country singer Kenny Chesney.
Zellweger, 36, who announced a few days ago that she and her husband Chesney are seeking an annulment after five months of marriage, immediately called her pal Damian for advice.
A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Damien and Renee are very close and when her marriage fell apart, he was the obvious person to call for a shoulder to cry on. He is always very supportive of Renee but denies they are anything more than friends.
The couple have spent hours on the phone to each other since the split and she has told friends Damien is helping her get over Kenny."
The insider also claims the Chicago actress is even planning a trip to Rice's hometown of Kildare, Ireland.
The source said: "Damien seems to be a very important part of her life right now and is helping her to stay strong.
She wants to get away from the hype and being in a small Irish town would be ideal. She feels very safe and comfortable there and is very close to Damien's parents."
Last year, Renee and Damien were rumored to have had a romantic relationship, but they both denied allegations, arguing they're just best friends.
