Renee Zellweger and Kenny Chesney have recently announced their official separation, after only 4 months of marriage.
The Hollywood beauty cited "fraud" when she filed papers seeking an annulment at Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday. According to the American law, she will have to prove that the country singer misrepresented facts vital to their marriage.
But Zellweger has now issued an officials statement insisting:
"(The term is) simply legal language and not a refection of Kenny's character.
To slam the media speculations on the reason of the annulment, the actress declared:
"I would personally be very grateful for your support in refraining from drawing derogatory, hurtful, sensationalised or untrue conclusions.
We hope to experience this transition as privately as possible."
Zellweger, 36, and Chesney, 37, who had met at the Concert of Hope tsunami relief benefit on 15 January, where Chesney was singing and Zellweger was answering telephones wed in a small surprise, got married in May on the Caribbean island of St John in the Virgin Islands. It was the first marriage for both.
