Renée Zellweger recently stated that she likes being single and would even be happy to stay single forever. The "Bridget Jones' Diary" star was married to country singer Kenny Chesney, but their marriage was annulled just four months after taking place. And now, as a reaction to all the speculation about her being desperate to find her Prince Charming, Renée stated that she is prepared to accept she might never be that lucky in what concerns her sentimental life.
Renée is 38 and looking great, yet she stated that while not downplaying the importance of romance in her life, she's simply happy with the way she is now - that is, single. "I don't want to sound cavalier by saying that I'm OK with my situation", she said, "because I'm not a frivolous person and don't take on something of such significance lightly. But there's good in every situation. It sounds simplistic, but I still have the good things that have always been in my life".
Now I'm not a relationship expert or psychologist, but that sounds a lot like she's trying to convince herself that she is fine - or maybe because of the troubled, often cruel world we live in today we'd much rather believe someone must have a relationship in order to be happy. As a result, we sometimes forget that for most Hollywood stars, relationships often bring more trouble than comfort. Just think Britney Spears, Pink or Lindsay Lohan and you'll get my point.
"There's nothing to add, I got married, and I'm not married. Not everything works out like you might hope, and I'm not the first person to have disappointment in my life", Renée admitted, then went on to talk about her much-hyped relationship with George Clooony, with whom she says she's still friends. "George is a good friend, you know, we have a lovely relationship. I write him six-page emails about my political rage, and he writes back, and cares too".
Despite her rather grim mood and pessimistic attitude, the Oscar-winning actress also declared herself against shooting naked scenes, because, she says, she wants to be able to take her family to watch her films. "I don't want the first shot of the movie to be a close-up on my naked breast because what that leads to doesn't have a place in my life. I want to be able say, 'Dad, Mom, there's a premiere tonight. You want to come?' I have to keep that in mind".
