Blurry photos can be any photographer's worst nightmare, and while pros don't really have to bother about such problems (they have the skills to avoid them), things are quite different as far as amateurs (and even advanced amateurs) are concerned, these being the main consumer segments targeted by BenQ's brand-new S1410 compact digital camera. The new imager from BenQ promises a fairly interesting set of specs, including here 14 Megapixels sensor, 5x optical zoom lens, 5cm Super Macro focus and 26mm Wide-Angel lens with O.I.S feature. The 5cm Super Macro delivers the same level of magnification and detail at 5 centimeters as conventional macro provides at 3 centimeters, while the combination of the 26mm wide-angle lens with 5x optical zoom makes the S1410 a fairly OK all-rounder. Similar to most other digital cameras to arrive on the market lately, the S1410 also delivers 720p HD movie recording capability, that allows users to record what's happening in front of them in a much more vivid and life-like manner. However, the main selling point the compact digital camera from BenQ has to offer is the O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) feature, the S1410 being the company's first to adopt such a system that enables photographers to take clear-looking photos at all times (not sure really why they've waited so long, since it's quite common in the case of all of their competitors' devices). BenQ’s S1410 will be available in China in October, Asia Pacific and Latin America in November, and Europe this December, but, unfortunately, the company has not provided any significant pricing-related information for the time being. However, given the fact that this is the first BenQ compact to feature an OIS system, we're guessing that the pricing will be slightly higher that the usual super-affordable pricing levels the company's cameras can be found at.
