We often hear that the Nintendo Wii has been so successful in its competition with the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PlayStation 3 from Sony because it manages to attract those players who do not directly associate videogames with violence and with weapons.

Now, it seems that a deal between Mastiff, a game company, and Remington will bring what might be the best known weapon brands in the world to the Nintendo Wii as part of the release of Great American Bird Hunt.

Mastiff has already released Deer Drive, a videogame centered on hunting for deer, and is working on Shimano Xtreme Fishing, which is based on fishing in rapid waters. Great American Bird Hunt is uniquely suited to integrate Remington firearms because it allows players to camp, wait out and then fire on some of the most recognizable birds in the United States.

Marc Hill, who is the Chief Marketing Officer representing the interests of the Remington Arms Company, Inc., stated that “Mastiff's success with outdoor sports games coupled with their commitment to quality and attention to detail make them a great fit for the Remington brand. Introducing hunting and the shooting sports to youth and non-shooters, is a key strategy for Remington, and we're incredibly excited to share our passion in the Remington Great American Bird Hunt game.”

Mastiff is saying that the partnership with Remington will allow the company to introduce a further element of realism in the upcoming title. The developer aims to create an experience easy to understand by first time players and complex to master by gamers that have played for several seasons. As with all Nintendo Wii titles, simplicity of use will be paramount and multiplayer will allow gamers to hunt for birds using Remington weapons alongside their friends. Great American Bird Hunt is set to be released towards the end of October.
