Sony Ericsson confirmed last month plans to phase out its Sync Service beginning December 29, 2011. Today, the company reminds Sony Ericsson fans who still use the Sync Service to shift to Google’s Sync service as soon as possible.

The reason behind Sony Ericsson’s decision is “to keep up to date and to encourage a more enhanced and integrated smartphone experience.” It appears that Google Sync service is the only option that offers users a more integrated experience.

However, the handset manufacturer also recommends other alternatives, such as Plaxo and UNYK services.

For more details head to Sony Ericsson’s site and check out how to switch to Google Sync service. The also company provides step-by-step instructions for a smooth transition from Sony Ericsson Sync Service to Google Sync service.
