Apple this week released OS X 10.8.4 build 12E27 for AppleSeed testers and developers alike. This is the first beta release for the next incremental update to OS X Mountain Lion.

Developers who haven’t yet received / read Apple’s notification regarding the new release can employ the OS X Software Update Seed Configuration Utility and download the new bits immediately from Apple’s servers.

Select testers chosen by Apple to provide real-world usage can log in with their credentials over at the AppleSeed Software Customer Seeding site.

Apple asks all people who install OS X 10.8.4 build 12E27 to look out for any issues in departments like Wi-Fi, Graphics Drivers and Safari.

OS X 10.8.3, the latest public version of Apple’s Mountain Lion OS, was developed over the course of almost five months. It is unclear whether Apple has extended the testing period for all Mountain Lion betas, but we shouldn’t expect the final version of OS X 10.8.4 to be released any time soon.
