14 DAY TRIAL // March 8 marks the International Women's Day, that special day when these special human beings are honored and praised for being awesome. It's a good opportunity to take a breath and just celebrate how brilliant, beautiful, inspiring and passionate we are.
Now is also a chance to promote equality and women's rights. International Women's Day has been observed across the world since early 1900s, but March 8 has been officially declared the UN Day for women's rights and world peace in 1977. Since then, every year events are held all over the world to celebrate their achievements in different fields. It is about supporting and respecting femininity in all its forms.
Granted, women are awesome every day for many reasons, but today we can brag about it. We have babies, we are nice to look at, we are understanding and sensitive, we are strong and we make the world a better place.
And if this is not enough, you can add to the list whatever quality you want just by looking at a woman next to you (mother, sister, colleague). I'm sure you will find one.
There are still difficulties and barriers that women have to face, as society puts a lot of pressure on our backs, but we always manage to find the strength to go on and ways to contribute to an age-old struggle for equality.
But nowadays women are on the forefront of all the primary drivers of change: economy, politics, private life. This is why they are so important both for their families and for the society as a whole.
This special day is both about celebrating the struggles women have undergone to gain equal rights as men and about showing women in our lives they are important to us. So don't forget to tell your mother, sister, friend or boss what they mean to you.
