The development team is short on people willing to do the work and spare the time

The Ubuntu GNOME team is looking for more contributors for their project and to make the 14.04 LTS released a reality.

As it stands right now, de Ubuntu GNOME developers have a really hard time because there aren't enough people to ensure a good 14.04 LTS release.

The Ubuntu GNOME team issued a call of help a couple of months ago, urging everyone with the knowledge and the time to get in touch and help with the necessary work.

“While I can't deny I was expecting that but I set my hope so high and was really interested to see more interested people. Please be informed that we DO NEED more help, support and contribution. Otherwise, and let me be super honest here, having an LTS release might be really hard if not impossible.”

“Not trying to be negative here but rather honest and realistic. We are all volunteers here. We appreciate your intentions but we do need your actual contributions,” said Ali Linx on the Ubuntu mailing list.

So, if you have the necessary experience and time, get in touch with the Ubuntu GNOME team, otherwise we might not get an Ubuntu GNOME release.
