One of the few pieces of software that offer a complete filtering solution that helps users automatically reject unsolicited calls and messages, Advanced Blocker has been developed by WebGate, and the large number of filters, as well as the fact that it is user-friendly, makes it one of the most interesting apps in its class. It functions like a standard blacklisting application, but with a wide range of filters, and it can block numerous communication types such as: Voice calls, Video calls, Anonymous calls, SMS, MMS and WAP push messages.

Users will be able to take advantage of the following filters that have been included into the application: Phone numbers that can be imported from the phone's contact book, the phone's log or entered manually; Private/hidden/withheld numbers that come from hidden or not identified numbers; Phone number patterns, like wildcard '*' pattern filter, which allows you to block out incoming calls beginning or ending with certain numbers – e.g. international prefixes; * replaces arbitrary number of positions within phone numbers; and Messages containing a text pattern or a predefined text word or phrase are automatically marked as junk.


Advanced Blocker offers you silent instant reject of all blacklisted numbers, number patterns and text rules and Auto-start mode option to automatically start up AB after phone restart. You can ca even block fixed numbers or groups of numbers (wildcard * number filters). So you won't have to worry about unwanted calls disturbing you, the application features a history log for detailed history of filtered events where you can see what phone numbers called you or SMS blocked.


The above-mentioned automated filters can be overruled by a set of filters that can be added manually, thus making the application more to your liking. Basically, this will offer you the possibility to put filters by sender, by number pattern and by text. Last, but not least, you'll be able to block calls that you receive from "private numbers."


Advanced Blocker is compatible with all S60 devices and can be bought for $39.90 USD. A fully featured trial is also available, but it is limited to 20 incoming calls / messages.
