Next album is almost done, but a release is yet to be set

Justin Bieber acted like a major douche for about 2 years and not once during all this time did he show any signs that he was feeling sorry for his behavior. Someone must have talked some sense into him, because he’s been apologizing for this for a while now.

The apology tour started with promo work for his Comedy Central Roast, of which he even said he had asked to get. It continues to this day, because Justin has a new album coming out this year, with an interview in Seventeen magazine.

Remorseful Justin Bieber is remorseful

The pop star has already explained his past scandalous behavior through a combination of young age, lack of parental control or authority, bad influences / peer pressure, and the need to let loose. In a way, his bad boy phase was expected; what wasn’t expected was for it to last this long and for no one from Bieber camp to step in to put an end to it.

In the end, as the saying goes, it’s better late than never: whoever worked their magic and reasoning skills on Bieber got through to him, and not only does he understand the error of his past ways but he’s publicly admitting to it.

“I was rebelling a little bit,” he tells Seventeen. “I was getting cockier and cockier. I didn't have people to check me. I looked back and I was disappointed in myself.”

He adds that he’s never been the guy to sweep the things he’s ashamed of under a rug. In life, a more mature Bieber says, you have to own up to your mistakes and he wants to do it because he knows his fans deserve it. They deserve the best he can offer them.

Irresponsible, dangerous behavior

During his bad boy stage, Justin Bieber didn’t just pee in mop buckets in the back of restaurants and act like a spoiled brat with no common sense: he also acted in ways that could have ended badly for him and others.

He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and drag racing; he drove his car on the sidewalk in an attempt to get rid of the paparazzi, nearly clipping a pedestrian; he engaged in chases with the same paparazzi and then tried to blame it on them; and he (reportedly) got behind the wheel after drinking more than once.

For almost 2 years, it was almost like the new Justin Bieber was working hard to destroy everything the teenage-friendly Justin Bieber had built. During this time, he also stopped performing and releasing new material, because he was probably too busy being a bad boy.

Even if this waking up to reality comes a tad too late, it’s a good thing it’s happening.
