Reese Witherspoon is getting ready to be a mommy again. The actress and husband Jim Toth are expecting their first child together, Reese's third, various reports in the media say.

News of this broke in Us Weekly, who claims to have it from a very reliable source that Reese is with child: she's just not ready to announce it yet.

Reese and Jim have been married for a year after a very low-key courtship. They have been trying to become pregnant ever since, the celebrity e-zine says.

“When Reese Witherspoon turns 36 this Thursday March 22, she'll definitely have something extra to celebrate: A baby on the way!” Us gushes.

“As multiple sources confirm exclusively in the new Us Weekly, out now, the Oscar-winning actress is pregnant with her third child, and her first with second husband Jim Toth, who she wed last March at her $7 million [€5.28 million] ranch in Ojai, Calif. after over a year of dating,” the report further says.

Insiders tell the magazine that Reese is at a stage in her pregnancy where she could easily release a statement to the press to confirm it, but she doesn't want to.

This isn't exactly surprising, since both she and Jim are very private, and have tried really hard not to have their romance play out in the first pages of the tabloids.

“Reese is right around 12 weeks, [but she is] not planning to announce it,” says a spy.

“Reese and Jim have been trying to get pregnant. The timing is right. She's so happy!” another insider further says.

Us Weekly isn't the only media outlet to run with the pregnancy story either. The Daily Mail, for instance, has a couple of paparazzi shots of the actress at the beach, and they seem to confirm the reports.

Then again, it was a set of beach photos as well that prompted Reese, some years ago, to take legal action against a tabloid for saying she sported a “baby bump” when she had, in fact, only enjoyed a more generous meal.

That is to say, until confirmation of the happy news comes from Reese's publicist, take the above with a grain of salt.
