14 DAY TRIAL // Reese Witherspoon is no longer as in-demand as she was back in her “Legally Blonde” days but she’s still raking in the big bucks, especially since she’s been focusing her efforts on producing as well. Even so, she doesn’t spend a dime of the money she makes.
A new report in the latest print issue of Star magazine (story via CB) claims that, even though she’s worth well above $80 million (€58.6 million), she insists that her husband pay for everything, even for the stuff many of us would consider joint expenditure.
The tab claims that the actress is so much in control of their married life that she “makes” Toth, who works at a famous Hollywood talent agency, “hand over his paychecks.” Apparently, she told him from the start that he would have to support her financially once they tied the knot.
“She thinks he should pay for vacations, food, household staff and even her beauty appointments,” says an insider, adding that she “wants to make sure her money has no influence on their marriage.”
“It’s ridiculous, but Jim knew this was the deal from the get-go,” the insider continues.
This is Reese’s second marriage: she met first husband Ryan Phillippe in 1997 and they were married two years later, in 1999. They got divorced in 2006 and have two children together, one boy and one girl.
They never said anything on the record about the reason for the split, but some media outlets suggested at the time that Ryan had probably been unfaithful to her.
After a string of more or less high-profile romances, including with the handsome Jake Gyllenhaal, she started dating Jim in February 2010. They became engaged later that year and were married in the spring of 2011.
Reese and Jim have a 2-year-old son together, Tennessee James Toth.
