Samsung is getting ready for the release of a new flavor of its Samsung ATIV S smartphone in Poland and has already confirmed the availability of the device in this country in September.

Apparently, the new model will feature a series of small changes when compared to the original Samsung ATIV S, which was made official last year with Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 operating system loaded on top.

According to a recent article on WMPoweruser, the smartphone could prove to be none other than the ATIV S Neo that was announced earlier this year for Sprint in the United States.

Samsung did not offer specific details on the matter, though it did say that the new device model was set to land on shelves in the country as soon as September 20,  Windows-Phone.pl reports.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Samsung ATIV S was made official with a 4.8-inch, 720 x 1280 pixel touchscreen display, as well as with a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon processor packed inside.

Furthermore, the Windows Phone 8 device arrived on shelves with 1GB of RAM, 16GB / 32GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes and a 2300mAh Li-Ion battery.

On the back, the smartphone features an 8-megapixel photo snapper with full HD video recording capabilities, paired with a 1.9MP front camera to enable video calling.

ATIV S also sports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS receiver, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot and the usual set of connectivity capabilities.

Compared with it, ATIV S Neo features a slightly different outer design, but packs roughly the same hardware internals (though it comes with a 1.4 GHz Krait processor inside). However, the newer device adds support for LTE networks, while also featuring only a 2000mAh battery, in addition to some other differences from the original.

Hopefully, Samsung will announce more on its plans for ATIV S in Poland in the near future, so stay tuned to learn the news.
