A refreshed flavor of the Google Play Store application is now available for download for devices running under Android, the same version 4.0 that was spotted in leaked screenshots only several days ago.

The new app release is meant to provide users with the possibility to find apps and other content that they are looking for much easier than before, through a simpler and cleaner interface.

Google notes that the new design of the app focuses on bigger images that jump off the page, with similarly themed content grouped for easier access.

“As you move down the page, new recommendations continue to appear so there is always more to see and explore. We’ve also simplified purchasing so you can breeze through checkout and get to enjoying your movie rental or other content,” the company explains.

The redesigned Google Play Store app arrives on all smartphones and tablet PCs running under Android 2.2 (Froyo) and above, and should reach all users within weeks.
