This BlackBerry Passport is exclusive to the carrier

BlackBerry unveiled the atypically squarish Passport handset back in 2014 and the unlocked version has been made available for purchase ever since.

However, AT&T is the first carrier to announce it will be picking up the handset. And in order to woo customers in, the company is offering a redesigned version of the Passport to those willing to jump onboard with it.

AT&T has a special Passport waiting for you

What do we mean by redesigned? Well, the original Passport boasts visibly sharp edges, but the AT&T variant enjoys smoother curves and as you can see in the pictures from the gallery, this gives it a unique look.

The design is the only thing that AT&T has tampered with, so its Passport boasts exactly the same specs as the BlackBerry original does.

For those who don’t remember what they are exactly, we’ll tell you the Passport arrives with a 4.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with 1440 x 1440 pixel resolution with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The handset is equipped with a powerful 2.26GHz quad-core Qulacomm Snapdragon 801 processor, Adreno 330 graphics and 3GB of RAM.

The Passport comes equipped with 32GB of internal storage, but users can go ahead and expand to 64GB via microSD card.

Another strong point of the smartphone would be the 13MP-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash, OIS (optical image stabilization) and full HD (1080p) video recording at 60fps.

The high-end device runs BlackBerry 10.3 operating system out of the box.

AT&T will start offering the special Passport soon

AT&T will be selling the big device for $199 / €168 on contract or for $649 / €547 out-right. Or you can get your hands on the handset for $0 down on AT&T own Next plans (that start at $21.67 / €18 per month).

The carrier hasn't said when it will start offering the Passport, but we shouldn't have to wait all that long.

Take a look at the new model in the gallery and tell us how you like it compared to the original model.
