Red Apple iPod? More than just a pun, a special edition of the iPod could very well be on the way, T3 reports. Rumors of such a red iPod started appearing around the Internet last week, following a post on Popbitch, post that claimed Bono was overheard "in Dublin's Michelin-starred Patrick Guilbaud restaurant discussing a new charity red Amex card and red iPod." The U2 front man is well known for the charitable work he does, but rumors are rumors, and this one seemed no different� until Bono unveiled the red Amex card that was also mentioned in the rumor. The new card is part of Product Red, a new brand of merchandise that was created to help gather funds to aid in the global battle against HIV. It seems that around 40 percent of the profits from the sale of Red Products goes to the Global Fund to Fight Aids. So far, Apple has been officially named as one of the partners in the new charity endeavor, but if that rumor is to be believed, such an announcement will be here soon. Which version of the iPod will get the red treatment? Will there be a red Nano and Shuffle too? Just how red will these iPods be? Further details as events warrant.
