A series of laboratory experiments carried out by a team of French researchers has revealed that fruits and vegetables aren't the only ones that can help people live longer, healthier and more energetic lives.

Long story short: these specialists maintain that red wine might up life expectancy by a whopping 60%, all thanks to its containing noteworthy levels of a compound known as resveratrol.

According to Daily Mail, this compound was found to have a beneficial impact on living organisms, meaning that it boosts their energy levels and helps build stamina.

“This research gives us hope not only for increasing longevity, but also for lengthening the period of adult vitality,” Professor Johan Auwerx reportedly stated.

The only bad news is that this particular series of experiments was carried out on worms, and odds are human patients respond somewhat differently to resveratrol.

It is to be expected that further research into the matter at hand will shortly follow.
