Red Steel is an exclusive Wii launch title that takes full advantage of the console's innovative controller and puts players directly into the action-packed first-person experience with the weapon in their hand - literally.
An engaging storyline unfolds as you learn that your fiancee has been kidnapped and her father - a Japanese mafia kingpin - murdered by a rival gang. The only way to save your loved one and defend your honor is to journey from Los Angeles to Japan and confront the Tokyo underworld.
By learning the ancient art of Japanese fighting with your katana and the focused precision of modern firearms, you will progress and adapt yourself to this foreign environment, where skills alone may not guarantee you victory.
The game takes advantage of Wii's motion-sensitive controller, along with the Nunchuk attachment, to control a katana and a firearm.
Twisting the controller while handling the gun causes the on-screen gun to twist as well. Players can push objects to use them as cover by pushing the controller forward. Shaking the Nunchuk attachment or pressing "right" on the D-Pad reloads the gun. The player can also throw grenades underhand or overhand, employing the controller as the object being thrown.
The AI characters can "care for themselves" according to project leader Roman Campos Oriola; enemies are aggressive, moving around objects and the environment to attack the player (like jumping on a table instead of running around). The developers hold the computer game F.E.A.R. as their standard for the AI. (Wikipedia)

Glitches
Uzi Shoot an Uzi at nothing for a long time and the game will freeze.
Restaurant: Leave level boundary In the Restaurant stage in Multi-player mode, go to the platform where the sniper rifle (AE Rifle) is located. Jump onto the wall next to the stairs. Then, jump out into the sky outside of the course. You will land on a green clump of land. You can move through the green mass on solid land, but if you throw a grenade it will fall through the floor. The only way to exit is to have another player kill you.
This is a great game, especially in multiplayer, and if you find it a bit boring (which you may do after a while, as with all games) go glitch hunting. There are many glitches hidden within the game and below are a few to help you get started
in the restaurant are glitch (found by jumping off the box near the AE rifle in the restaurant, but instead of landing on the floor, aim for off the map), you will be able to walk around, shioot the ground infront of you and fight your friends, but not throw grenades infront of you, as they will fall through the floor. it is possible to escape by being killed or by throwing a grenade at the wall, but quite high. this may take a few attempts and its not easy to learn how to do it every time, so always brings 5 grenades (maximum amount for multiplayer mode). Also getting in the will damage you signifcantly, so bring FULL body armour in order to live when you land off map.
another glitch i found (although it only happens occasionally) is in the campaign. Just outside the dojo, where the guard is are two lion statues. after making the guard move, walk down the wooden beams the run along the stairs to the lion on your left. jump just before you get there and you should land IN it, looking at the floor reveals 4 walls surrounding you nd no lion, so logically you are now inside the statue. You cannot jump high enough to escape, and cannot walk or crouch out. Load last checkpoint to get out of this glitch.
It is also possible to glitch it so that you use your gun in a sword fight, but it doesnt damage, and wont change until your hit. Im not sure how i managed that though.
