You don't necessarily have to be a constructor or interior designer/decorator to instantly see that the Huang Qiaokun's Red Point Measure device is the very definition of affordable precision. For those who are making all sorts of measurements inside people's homes or in their own residences, the Red Point Measure is one tool that can make the difference between perfection and ruin. Imagine ordering some custom furniture made upon some measures you took in a hurry; then the furniture arrives at your doorstep and you notice it won't fit in your bedroom because of a 2-inch error in the measurements you made. Wouldn't that be a shame?
Now, if you're looking for a scientific and easy to use method to have things measured in your home, the Red Point Measure might very well be one of the best concepts ever invented. It is almost 100% automatic and uses lasers and a computerized chip which is bound not to fail.
While looking like half a scissors (as one colleague of mine suggested), the Red Point Measure is extremely easy to use. Just power it up and two visible red laser beams will come out from its arms, leaving a small red marker point on the surfaces they end upon. All you have to do is open or, respectively, close the measurement device so the red markers are where your measure tape should have been. Press a button and the Red Point Measure will tell you the exact distance between the two markers.

And what's even cooler about this awesome project is that it also comes with 2 more nifty features. First of all, it eliminates the need to go up ladders or other more hazardous contraptions in order to reach far points such as the ceiling or the likes. You can actually have things perfectly measured while you're enjoying your coffee on your sofa – as long as you see the ends of what you want to measure, you can do it. And you'll be able to do it on and on with absolutely no risks, provided that you'll never point the laser beams at your eyes, that is.
On the other hand, you can also use the Red Point Measure to get a better picture of how much space some object would take from your room or how a wider/narrower object would look in a certain setting. Just adjust the desired opening for your Red Point Measure and compare it to your room! Kudos to Huang Qiaokun for such a simple and bright idea! We're sure it will be an instant hit if it becomes reality.
