On May 5, Red Hat had the pleasure of announcing the immediate availability for download and testing of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7 Beta operating system, a pre-release version that brings a number of new features and fixes in order to keep the 6.x branch stable and reliable.

According to Red Hat, prominent features in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7 Beta operating system include new functionality to the Identity Management client code (SSSD) for improved interoperability with both Identity Management and Active Directory servers, as well as the implementation of the Clufter tool for analyzing and transforming cluster configuration formats.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux's new Clufter tool if perfect for system administrators who plan on updating existing high-availability configurations in order to make them compatible with the latest high-availability tools included in Red Hat's operating system.

In addition to the features mentioned above, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7 Beta includes many other improvements, such as the ability to specify allowed mount options in udev rules, LVM Cache for creating logical volumes that rely on a small and fast storage device for cache needs for a larger slower device, Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Workbench, and updated Performance Co-Pilot (PCP).

The final release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7 will contain a base ISO image that has been specially designed to allow Red Hat customers to migrate their traditional workloads into container-based apps, which are suitable for deployment on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Atomic Host and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 operating systems.
