Mobile phone users in the UK interested in the purchase of a Red version of the HTC One M8 smartphone can now head over to wireless carrier O2 to grab it.

The HTC One M8 Red was officially confirmed for this operator a few weeks ago, when HTC formally introduced it alongside the Pink variant that went up for sale via Carphone Warehouse.

O2 UK customers interested in the device will find it listed on this page on the wireless carrier’s website, priced starting at £0.00 upfront on monthly contracts.

However, it can also be purchased on a Pay As You Go basis, for £619.99 ($1042/€778), which also includes £10 ($16.8/€12.5) credit. The new phone model is in stock at the operator today.

The Red variant of HTC One M8 joins the previously available Gold and Metal Grey versions, which feature the same price tag.

In fact, we should note that the Red model sports exactly the same hardware capabilities as the previously available flavors did. The outer color is the only thing that has been changed when compared to them.

The handset sports a 5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD resolution, while being powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor.

Moreover, it arrives on shelves with 2GB of RAM, as well as with 32GB of internal memory, and with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 128GB of additional storage space.

“The HTC One (M8) is a thing of beauty. It's got a clear 5 inch 1080 SLCD touchscreen, with a curved, thin build, made mainly from aluminum, for a cool, sleek look and a comfortable feel. The curves and lines fit perfectly in the palm of your hand, so you'll never want to put it down,” O2 UK notes.

“Add the unique HTC Dot View, for a case that looks great and protects your phone, but doesn't get in the way. You can see who's calling, and answer or decline without even opening it. There's even a stylish little slot for a microSD expandable memory card, so you can store even more photos, videos and music.”

Moreover, the handset sports a 4MP UltraPixel duo-camera setup on the back, with LED flash and support for full HD video recording, while also featuring a 5MP front camera for making video calls while on the go.

HTC One M8 runs under the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system right from the start, while featuring various software features and exclusive applications from HTC, in the form of the Sense 6 UI.
