Mobile phone users in the UK interested in the purchase of an HTC One M8 should know that the handset is about to receive a color makeover, as wireless carrier O2 is getting ready to release it in Red.

Currently available at this operator in Amber Gold and Metal Grey, the smartphone will be released in a Red flavor as soon as August 4, and it appears that O2 will have exclusivity on this color variant.

As a recent post on Pocket-lint reads, O2 will be offering the new mobile phone on its O2 Refresh tariff, at no upfront cost on select monthly plans. Those interested in grabbing the device on Pay As You Go plans will have to pay £620 ($1,058/€785) for it.

Basically, the Red flavor of HTC One M8 will feature the same price tag that the already available color flavors of the device sport.

Moreover, users should expect the new model to include exactly the same hardware specifications and capabilities as the original variants, with the outer color being the only difference between them.

For those out of the loop, we should note that HTC One M8 was made official with a 5-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution.

The same as its predecessor (last year’s HTC One M7), the new device sports an aluminum unibody, which gives it a premium look and feel.

HTC One M8 is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU, which is paired with 2GB of RAM, thus ensuring increased performance capabilities at all times.

Additionally, the smartphone includes 16GB / 32GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot that allows users to add up to 128GB of external storage space to it.

On the back, the mobile phone features a dual 4-megapixel camera setup, which will offer full HD video recording, in addition to a wide range of new imaging capabilities. Moreover, a 5MP front camera was included on the front of the phone, enabling users to snap great selfies.

The specifications list of HTC One M8 also includes support for 4G LTE networks, along with the usual Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, a built-in GPS receiver, and a 2600mAh battery.

HTC One M8 runs under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system, with HTC’s own Sense 6 user interface loaded on top, thus capable of offering a variety of exclusive features to its users.
