The first one arrives in August

Destructible environments are boasted by a lot of video games these days, but none takes it as far as the recent Red Faction: Guerrilla video title, which was developed by Volition and published by THQ.

The game started a new story, set years after the action of the first two titles, but sharing the same basic concept, as the guerrilla fighters on Mars need to escape from the evil corporation that exploits them, this meaning that a lot of destruction is needed on the surface of the red planet.

But for those who have already completed the main mission line, THQ has some very good news today, as it has announced that three Downloadable Content packs are planned for the video game, with the first one, Demons of the Badlands, scheduled to arrive this August, on the 13th.

Promising to take players on an all-new section of the red planet, the same red color will dominate the surroundings. Luckily, the action will be a breath of fresh air, taking place outside the boundaries of the original game. No further details about it were given, but being priced at 800 MS Points or $9.99, depending on which console one buys it, a lot of interesting things are bound to be in it.

Also, no details have been given about the other two packs of the DLC, meaning that until THQ decides to shed some more light on them, we still need to destroy as much of Mars as we can in preparation of their arrival on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms.

Have you enjoyed Red Faction: Guerrilla on the consoles? Or are you still expecting it to arrive on the PC in late August? Leave us a comment with your thoughts on this extremely destructive, but impressive, third-person title.
