All of the downloadable content that was offered for those who pre-ordered Red Dead Redemption last year will be available starting today for all owners of the Western game.

Rockstar promised that any content that was offered as a pre-order incentive when Red Dead Redemption was launched would eventually make its way onto the online services of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, so that all players could enjoy the special goodies.

Now, after almost a year since the release of Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar made good on its word, and has announced that starting today, April 12, pre-order DLC for the title will be launched onto the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Based on the regular update schedules for the two online services, the content should start going up on the Xbox Live all over the world later today, as well as on the North American PlayStation Network, and tomorrow on the European PSN.

Check out the three pieces of DLC that will be available for download below.

The Deadly Assassin Outfit John Marston's Deadly Assassin outfit causes your Dead Eye meter to regenerate at twice the speed. With more Dead Eye, you have more time to place each shot with total accuracy, making you the deadliest gunslinger in any fight.

The Golden Guns Weapon Pack

Available for use in the Red Dead Redemption Single Player story, the player who wields the Golden Guns receives more Fame for each kill. The more Fame you get, the more in-game side missions become available. So there will be more opportunities to duel, more kidnapped townsfolk to rescue and you can bribe lawmen for less.

The War Horse

There are countless horses to be found in the massive world of Red Dead Redemption, but none is stronger, faster or tougher than the War Horse. Whether storming gang hideouts, exploring the wilderness for hidden treasure, or outrunning the law, the War Horse gives gunslingers an advantage in nearly every situation. All of the Red Dead Redemption DLC will be priced at 80 Microsoft Points or $0.99 each, depending on your choice of online service.

A similar strategy of pre-order DLC will be followed with the upcoming L.A. Noire, which, according to Rockstar, will see the special content appear much sooner for all owners of the title.
