The developers at Rockstar announced that they are launching a triple XP multiplayer event for the PlayStation 3 home console version of Red Dead Redemption and its Undead Nightmare expansion, starting with 4 PM Eastern Daylight Time.

The event will only last for three hours and it’s designed as a way of getting players of Red Dead Redemption back into the multiplayer side of the Western-themed shooter.

A number of developers from Rockstar will be playing during the event and gamers will be able to add their IDs to their own friends list in order to get them as partners.

Red Dead Redemption was launched in May 2010 and, since then, Rockstar has delivered a number of expansion packages and DLC for it.

A number of sources have reported that after the launch of Grand Theft Auto V, the Rockstar team would create a sequel for Red Dead Redemption.
