“Sinister” is one of those horror movies that we simply can’t wait to see and no, it’s not just because it stars Ethan Hawke. Of the lot using the found footage technique, this seems to do it in the most convincing, goosebump-inducing manner.

Above is a brand new, red band trailer for it.

*Please note that discretion is recommended because it contains images of violence and some instances of profane language (in the pull quotes).

Unlike the first official trailer, this one features no dialog but, at the same time, manages to be incredibly convincing and scary only through a very powerful combination of imagery and sound.

“Sinister” is about a crime novelist who discovers disturbing film reels in the attic of his new home and, by researching them, unleashes evil into his world.

It will be out on October 5.
