Problems fixed

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 was hyped up as one of the most complete RTS (Real Time Strategy) experiences of this holiday season, and, for the most part, it delivered, in terms of gameplay and story. It brought back the same tongue-in-cheek approach to strategy games, which the Red Alert series is famous for, and, with a star-studded cast, it delivered a great cinematic experience.

But, as with quite a lot of games these days, the title wasn't without faults and, although the development team tested it repeatedly, quite a few balancing issues occurred with some units playing against others. Now it seems that the team at EA Los Angeles has worked very hard and has released the new 1.05 patch which will address quite a lot of fan concerns, which plagued the online multiplayer and co-op modes.

Available for download here, the patch will fix quite a lot of problems, like the strength of the Allied air units, and add quite a lot of features to the online experience, like the ability to see a player's stats in the online lobby, and adding this lobby feature to the online co-op mode. Also, if you are one of those players who install their game on multiple PCs, a DRM De-authorization tool has been added, so you can deactivate copies of your Red Alert 3 on the fly, after you hit the limit of five installs.

One of the most important and interesting features of this new patch is the fact that it also marks the release of the Red Alert 3 World builder, a special tool that allows players to make their own maps, with a program that has been used by the developers to create the ones found in the game. This program will certainly make quite a lot of users very happy, as custom maps are always more fun than the ones made by the developers. This World Builder is available for download here.

All in all, some very interesting things from the team at EA Los Angeles, which are sure to offer players a much better gaming experience with this very well-polished RTS.
