Recuva is at the second update this year, the previous one being released in late March. Besides adding initial support for Windows 8, version 1.41 of Recuva also deals with other issues, mainly related to searching and filtering content.

There are new features available, such as content searching for specific text in the deleted files and regular expression matching to the filter has been introduced, as well as fixes and improvements of the old ones.

Support for BartPE has been consolidated with new folder creation option and the drop-down highlight issue is now fixed.

More important for the regular user is that recovery of archives has been improved on volumes with a non-standard cluster size. The developer also puts on the changelog minor cosmetic changes.

Recuva is the second program from Piriform receiving preliminary support for Windows 8. It looks like the company is really taking advantage of the Developer Preview and adapts its applications to the new environment.
